Man arrested on felony DWI charge in Lockport

LOCKPORT, NY — A 39-year-old man faces felony charges after allegedly driving drunk with a child in his vehicle.

Jonathan T. Reid, of Lockport, was arrested following a traffic stop on Lincoln Avenue on Oct. 30, according to Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti.

Deputies observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue drive onto the shoulder at approximately 9:10 p.m.

The vehicle also had a license plate violation.

During the stop, deputies noted signs of intoxication from Reid, who was driving the vehicle.

A 9-year-old child was also present in the vehicle.

Reid was arrested and transported to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, where he submitted to a chemical breath test.

The test resulted in a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent.

Reid is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, a felony, as well as operating a motor vehicle above 0.08 percent blood alcohol content, driving while intoxicated, and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.

He also faces vehicle and traffic law infractions.

The juvenile passenger was turned over to family.

Reid was remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility while he awaits centralized arraignment.
