COLONIE, NY — State Police arrested a man on drunken driving charges following a three-vehicle crash on Troy Schenectady Road on Oct. 24.
Mario Santiz Lopez, 26, of Schenectady, was traveling eastbound on Troy Schenectady Road at about 6:57 p.m. when he struck the rear of an SUV stopped at a red light, according to police.
The impact pushed that vehicle into another SUV in front of it that was also stopped for the red light.
The driver and passenger of the second SUV were transported to a hospital for what were reported to be minor injuries.
Santiz Lopez was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Latham for processing, where he recorded a 0.20% blood alcohol content.
Santiz Lopez was issued tickets returnable to Colonie Town Court on Nov. 17 and released to a sober third party.
