Two arrested on drug charges in Rome

ROME, NY — Two people face felony drug charges following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of more than 8 ounces of methamphetamine.

The Rome Police Department’s Patrol Division stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of North Madison at approximately 10:28 p.m. on Oct. 18 for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

The driver, Kaylee N. Robinson, 35, of Rome, was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.

A passenger in the vehicle, Duane O. Bronson, 49, of Rome, was not initially charged and was not held at the scene.

During an inventory of the vehicle, police located a large quantity of white crystallized substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine with an aggregate weight of 8.24 ounces.

The substance was sent to the New York State Police Crime Lab for further testing.

Robinson was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, an A-II felony.

Robinson was processed and held for arraignment.

On Oct. 21 at approximately 8:50 a.m., the Rome Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit located Bronson.

With assistance from the Patrol Division, Bronson was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, an A-II felony.

Bronson was processed and held for arraignment.
