HORSEHEADS, NY — A 36-year-old man was arrested on charges of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child following a months-long investigation.
Henry W. Cuesta, of Horseheads, was arrested Oct. 27 by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
He is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began in June after a report of inappropriate contact involving a juvenile in the town of Horseheads.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation in consultation with the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office.
Cuesta surrendered himself at State Police barracks in Horseheads, where he was processed.
He was arraigned in Horseheads Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
Cuesta is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
