Man arrested on surveillance charge in Selden

SELDEN, NY — A man was arrested for allegedly taking photos under a teenage girl’s dress at a Target store.

Aqeel Ahmad was arrested Oct. 28 and charged with unlawful surveillance in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Suffolk County Police.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was browsing greeting cards at the Target located in Independence Plaza on Oct. 19 at approximately 2 p.m. when Ahmad knelt down near the girl and used his cell phone to take photos under her dress.

Ahmad, of Selden, is an employee of Eastern Suffolk BOCES in Bellport, police said.
