Man arrested on rape charges in Broadalbin

BROADALBIN, NY — State Police arrested a Gloversville man on two counts of rape in the second degree on Oct. 16.

Shane A. Murray, 19, of Gloversville, was arrested following an investigation that began in April.

On April 10, Troopers received information reporting the possible sexual assault of a child.

The investigation determined Murray allegedly sexually assaulted a child under the age of 15 while in Broadalbin on more than one occasion.

Murray was transported from the Fulton County Correctional Facility where he was being held on unrelated charges to State Police Mayfield where he was processed.

He was then arraigned at the Broadalbin Town Court where he was remanded back to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash or $150,000 bond.
