Man arrested on felony charges in Geneva

GENEVA, NY — A man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into a stolen credit card in Yates County.

Edison Maisonave-Coto was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said Maisonave-Coto allegedly stole a credit card from a resident in the Town of Starkey.

He then used the stolen card to purchase merchandise in the Village of Penn Yan, according to authorities.

Maisonave-Coto was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Starkey Court at a later date.

The Geneva Police Department assisted in the investigation.
