Man arrested on drug, gun charges in Worcester

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man faces multiple charges after police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Hitchcock Road on Oct. 29.

Ruben Ramos, 29, of Worcester, exited his residence at approximately 11 a.m. when Vice Detectives stopped him.

Ramos struggled with detectives as they attempted to detain him in front of the residence, according to police.

Members of the Worcester Vice and Gang Units along with DEA task force officers entered the apartment while Ramos was being detained.

A search of Ramos’ bedroom revealed 22 grams of crack cocaine, currency and a Glock .40 caliber firearm loaded with an extended magazine.

Ramos is charged with trafficking in cocaine, firearm use in a felony, unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, improper storage of a large capacity firearm near a minor and possession of a firearm with three prior violent crimes/drug offenses.
