WEST HAVERSTRAW, NY — A man was arrested and charged with attempted murder following a shooting at a residence on Monday.
The Haverstraw Police Department responded to a home on Mackey Court at approximately 4:34 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute involving two male subjects and a weapon.
Officers found a male subject inside the residence who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Police immediately rendered medical aid to the victim and took one subject into custody at the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains under medical care.
Tevin Williams, 28, of West Haverstraw, was taken into custody and transported to the Haverstraw Police Department for processing.
Williams was charged with attempted murder in the second degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and criminal possession of a firearm.
The Haverstraw Police Department was assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI, the FBI–Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Rockland County Intelligence Center.
Williams was arraigned in the Village of West Haverstraw Justice Court where he was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
