BARTON, VT — A 19-year-old driver faces charges after his truck left the roadway following reports of reckless driving late Saturday night.
Troopers observed two trucks driving recklessly through Barton at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 25.
Troopers activated their emergency lights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Before troopers could catch up with the vehicles, one of the trucks drove off Burton Hill Road near the intersection of Breezy Hill Road.
The operator was identified as Dominick Daigle, 19, of Irasburg.
Daigle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Two passengers inside the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado were transported to North Country Hospital for serious non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the incident.
Orleans Ambulance Service and Orleans Fire Department responded to assist with the crash.
Daigle received multiple Vermont Civil Violation Complaints and was issued a citation for negligent operation.
He is scheduled to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on Dec. 9 at 8:30 a.m.
