WASHINGTON, NJ — A 47-year-old man faces multiple drug charges following a two-month investigation into heroin distribution in Washington Borough.
David J. Gallagher, of Washington, was arrested Thursday after authorities executed a search warrant on the 200 block of Belvidere Avenue.
The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and Washington Township Police Department conducted the investigation that identified Gallagher as a suspect.
Gallagher was charged with maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility to grow marijuana for distribution, a first-degree crime.
He also faces charges of manufacturing marijuana, a second-degree crime, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public building, also a second-degree crime.
Additional charges include possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, a third-degree crime, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically suspected heroin, a third-degree crime.
Gallagher was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
He was processed and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center pending the state’s motion for pretrial detention.
The Warren County Tactical Response Team assisted in executing the search warrant.
