LEWISTON, ME — Police are seeking the return of items taken from a condemned supermarket after several people were misled into believing the merchandise was free.
The Lewiston Police Department responded to Goshen Super Market LLC at 179 Lincoln St. on Sunday for a report of people removing items from the condemned store without permission.
Police determined several members of the public were falsely told that items in the store were no longer wanted and free for the taking.
This misinformation resulted in several individuals going to the store and removing items.
The department is requesting that any items taken from the store on Sunday be returned to 179 Lincoln St. between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
