Two arrested on drug, firearm charges in Boston

BOSTON, MA — Two people were arrested on drug and firearm charges following an investigation near the intersection of Causeway Street and Portland Street on Friday night.

Officers assigned to District A-1 observed suspicious activity consistent with a possible street-level drug transaction behind a business near Causeway Street at about 7:25 p.m.

Officers approached the individuals and initiated an investigation.

Stephano Toussaint, 24, of Lowell, Massachusetts, was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics.

Officers recovered multiple bags containing a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, as well as a folded dollar bill containing a powdered substance believed to be fentanyl.

Officers also located a belly band style holster concealed beneath his sweatshirt.

A black and green Beretta APX 9mm semi-automatic firearm, loaded with one round in the chamber and thirteen rounds in the magazine, was found.

The firearm appeared to have an obliterated serial number.

Officers recovered approximately 21 grams of suspected crack cocaine, one paper fold containing suspected fentanyl, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Toussaint is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of trafficking Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class A, possession with intent to distribute Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class E, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, defacing serial number on a firearm, and assault and battery.

Sharleen McNeil, 43, of Roxbury, was arrested after officers determined she had multiple outstanding warrants for possession of Class B drugs.

McNeil is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
