Man arrested on burglary, weapons charges in Town of Tonawanda

TONAWANDA, NY — A man was arrested after police responded to reports of a prowler attempting to burglarize homes on Oct. 24.

The Town of Tonawanda Police Department responded to Danbury Lane at approximately 6:20 p.m. after reports of a male trespassing through backyards and trying to burglarize homes.

Officers located the suspect, Brendan G. McAndrew Jr., 24, of Kenmore, nearby.

McAndrew was found to be in possession of several stolen credit cards, metal knuckles, pepper spray, latex gloves, a flashlight and illegally possessed narcotics along with a hypodermic instrument.

He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, trespass and possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container.

McAndrew was arraigned on Oct. 25 in Town of Tonawanda Court before Judge J. Mark Gruber and released on his own recognizance.
