MONROE, NY — Troopers from the New York State Police Monroe barracks responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a yellow school bus on State Route 208 southbound at the State Route 17 Exit 130 on-ramp in the town of Monroe at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 23.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2023 Chevrolet yellow school bus was traveling south on State Route 208 when it attempted to make a left-hand turn onto the State Route 17 on-ramp at Exit 130.
At the same time, a 2013 Honda traveling northbound on State Route 208 proceeded straight through the intersection with a green traffic signal and struck the front passenger side of the school bus.
The school bus was operated by a 65-year-old man from Middletown, New York.
A 61-year-old male passenger, also from Middletown, was on board at the time of the crash.
The Honda was operated by a 31-year-old woman from Monroe.
All three individuals were transported to Garnet Health Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The 12 children onboard the school bus were not injured.
