POTSDAM, NY — Members of the New York State Police arrested two people on drug charges on Oct. 23.
Clayton L. Thomas, 64, of Parishville, and Sarah L. Barber, 41, of Brasher Falls, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
At approximately 7:14 p.m., troopers observed a 2014 Subaru traveling west on State Highway 11 that violated a traffic law.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, Thomas, and the passenger, Barber.
During the interview, troopers detected suspicious activity and were granted consent to search the vehicle.
While searching the car, they found drug paraphernalia and narcotics.
Thomas and Barber were arrested and transported to SP Canton for processing.
They were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Town of Potsdam Court in November.
