Two arrested in stolen vehicle case in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT — Officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force arrested two men after spotting a stolen vehicle on Oct. 22.

Officers conducting patrols along East Main Street observed a 2000 Honda Civic that had been reported stolen from Waterbury in the area of Rutledge Street.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The driver, Isaac Rodriguez-Santiago, 31, of Waterbury, and the passenger, Abdulsatar Sulaivani, 36, of Waterbury, were taken into custody without incident.

Rodriguez-Santiago was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Sulaivani was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

Sulaivani also had active warrants and is wanted in connection with recent shoplifting incidents.
