NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two male suspects in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Monday.
At approximately 4 a.m., an injured man entered the 3rd Precinct at 649 Market Street seeking assistance.
The victim had been assaulted by two male suspects in the 200 block of Ferry Street.
After the victim stepped outside of a venue with a male friend, the two suspects began making disparaging comments about them.
The victim approached the suspects inside a parking lot across the street.
At that point, one of the males pushed the victim to the ground.
The second suspect then hit the victim in the head with a blunt object.
This second suspect then fled the scene, entering a white vehicle.
The victim was transported to University Hospital by EMS for treatment.
He is reportedly in stable condition.
