Woman arrested on shoplifting charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested on a petit larceny charge after allegedly attempting to steal merchandise from a store on the city’s Northside.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a shoplifting complaint at approximately 3:10 p.m. Oct. 22.

An investigation revealed that Cinnamon Swanson attempted to conceal multiple items of merchandise in her bag and walked past the points of purchase, according to police.

Store workers stopped Swanson, who was found to be in possession of $51.68 worth of merchandise that she had not paid for, police said.

Officers placed Swanson into custody and transported her to the Jamestown City Jail.

She is being held pending arraignment.
