Three arrested on burglary charges in Delaware County

ANDES, NY — Three Delaware County residents were arrested following an investigation into a domestic incident that led to the discovery of dozens of allegedly stolen items from multiple properties.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Sept. 21 to assist the Colchester Police Department with a reported domestic incident, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

Deputies discovered the domestic dispute had occurred in the Town of Andes.

During the investigation, deputies found the subjects involved were in possession of a motor vehicle that had been stolen from the Town of Walton.

Further investigation led to the discovery of dozens of items suspected to be stolen from multiple properties, buildings and homes in the towns of Colchester, Andes and Walton.

On Sept. 22, deputies and members of the Colchester Police Department contacted property and homeowners, confirming that multiple thefts and burglaries had occurred.

Donavin Brock, 21, of Downsville, was charged with one count of menacing in the 2nd degree and one count of criminal mischief in the 4th degree, both misdemeanors, stemming from the domestic incident.

Brock was additionally charged with one count of grand larceny in the 4th degree concerning the theft of the motor vehicle, one count of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, two counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, two counts of burglary in the 3rd degree and one count of tampering with physical evidence, all felonies.

He also faces four counts of petit larceny, one count of criminal mischief in the 4th degree and one count of criminal trespass in the 3rd degree, all misdemeanors.

Tenlei Wood, 18, of Walton, was charged with one count of grand larceny in the 4th degree concerning the theft of the motor vehicle, one count of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, two counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, two counts of burglary in the 3rd degree and one count of tampering with physical evidence, all felonies.

Wood was additionally charged with four counts of petit larceny, one count of criminal mischief in the 4th degree and one count of criminal trespass in the 3rd degree, all misdemeanors.

Barbara Walley, 40, of Andes, was charged with two counts of burglary in the 3rd degree and one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, both felonies.

Walley was additionally charged with four counts of petit larceny, one count of criminal mischief in the 4th degree, one count of obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree and one count of hindering prosecution in the 3rd degree, all misdemeanors.

All defendants were transported to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office to await arraignment at CAP Court.

The Colchester Police Department also has multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to the investigation.

Deputies and the Colchester Police Department were assisted by the New York State Police Forensic Investigative Unit.
