DARTMOUTH, MA — Three Boston men were arrested Oct. 12 in connection with a motor vehicle break-in and credit card fraud at a Walgreens on State Road.
The Dartmouth Police Department responded to Walgreens at 495 State Road at approximately 9:23 a.m. for a reported breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.
Officer Nicholas Barnes met with the victim, who reported his vehicle had been broken into overnight.
Several items were stolen, including the victim’s wallet and multiple credit cards.
The victim later discovered one of his stolen credit cards had been used at Walgreens to purchase approximately $1,800 in Visa gift cards.
Officer Barnes observed three male suspects using the stolen credit card to make the fraudulent purchase while reviewing the store’s security footage.
Shortly after clearing the initial call, Officer Barnes and other Dartmouth Police officers responded to the campus of UMass Dartmouth to assist the UMass Dartmouth Police Department with a trespassing incident.
During the response, Officer Barnes recognized three individuals involved in the trespassing call as the same suspects seen on the Walgreens security footage.
All three suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Property belonging to the original victim was recovered from one of the suspects.
Raudy Ramirez-Valdez, 18, of Boston, was charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200, credit card fraud over $1,200, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and person under 21 in possession of liquor.
Emmanuel Joseph, 19, of Boston, was charged with trespassing, credit card fraud over $1,200 and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.
Musa Fofana, 19, of Boston, was charged with trespassing, credit card fraud under $1,200 and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.
All three suspects were transported to the Dartmouth Police Department for booking and then to New Bedford District Court for arraignment.
