Three arrested on multiple charges in Richford

RICHFORD, VT — Three people were arrested Tuesday night after Vermont State Police responded to multiple motor vehicle complaints on Noyes Street.

Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks were dispatched to the area at approximately 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21.

Multiple vehicles were located that appeared to have been the catalyst of the complaint, police said.

While on scene, a trooper attempted to detain Jason Bessette, 28, of Richford, for disorderly conduct, but he resisted, according to police.

During the process, the trooper was assaulted by Dorcas Button, 41, of Richford, police said.

Trevor Thompson, 21, of Richford, acted disorderly by engaging in threatening and tumultuous behavior, according to police.

Bessette was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Button was charged with assault on law enforcement.

Thompson was charged with disorderly conduct.

All three were issued criminal citations to appear in Franklin County Court on Dec. 8.
