HARRISON, NJ — The Harrison Police Department responded to a false emergency call at Harrison High School on Monday afternoon.

Police received a report of a suspicious person at the school at approximately 12:52 p.m.

Officers responded immediately and worked with school officials and partner agencies to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined the call was unfounded and identified it as a “swatting” incident—a false emergency report intended to provoke a law enforcement response.

At no time was there any threat to students or school personnel, according to police.

The Harrison School District, Harrison Fire Department, Harrison Department of Public Works and St. Clare’s EMS assisted during the incident.

Police Chief Stanley Titterington and Police Director Nicholas G. Breiner said the department remains dedicated to the safety of schools and the community.
