MIDDLESEX BOROUGH, NJ — A man was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles at a business early Thursday morning.
Jerry L. Pierre, 28, of Roselle was charged with burglary, theft and trespassing, according to Middlesex Borough Police Chief Matthew P. Geist.
At approximately 1:21 a.m. on Oct. 22, Sgt. George Pilesky, Officer Marc Arancio and Officer Brandon Stout responded to a Smalley Avenue business to investigate a suspicious person.
The caller reported observing a male subject on the property who was seen entering multiple vehicles without permission.
After the individual left the premises, the caller maintained visual contact and provided updates to dispatch prior to police arrival.
Officer Stout located and stopped the male, identified as Pierre, on Jay Place.
Through their investigation, officers determined that Pierre was in possession of numerous E-ZPass transponders that were stolen from the Smalley Avenue business.
Pierre was placed under arrest and later remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility.
“We commend the citizen for reporting suspicious activity and assisting our officers in locating the suspect,” said Chief Geist.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
