Woman arrested on felony larceny charges in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, NY — A woman was arrested on felony larceny charges after allegedly stealing merchandise from two stores on Saturday.

The Bethlehem Police Department responded to Walmart in Glenmont at 3:58 p.m. for a larceny in progress.

The suspect had left the store in a 2012 Dodge Journey before officers arrived.

A deputy with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle in the Village of Ravena a short time later.

The deputy stopped the vehicle and located the stolen merchandise.

Officers from the Bethlehem Police Department responded to the stop location and recovered stolen merchandise from Walmart, as well as merchandise from Market 32 in Albany.

Erin E. Sokolowski, 47, of Delmar, was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, both felonies.

Sokolowski was arraigned by Judge Erin Lynch and released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.

A return date was set for Oct. 21 at 4 p.m.
