PUTNAM, CT — A portion of Route 44 will be closed and detoured Saturday for the filming of a movie, according to police.
Front Street will be closed to through traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to facilitate filming at the Bradley Playhouse on Front Street, Police Chief Christopher D. Ferace said.
School Street at Providence Street will be closed to through traffic westbound, with only local residential traffic allowed.
Commercial traffic will be diverted onto Providence Street, to Kennedy Drive and back onto Route 44 west.
Front Street at South Main Street will be closed completely and all traffic diverted onto Route 44 eastbound.
Pomfret Street at Kennedy Drive will have all traffic detoured either northbound or southbound onto Kennedy Drive.
Kennedy Drive at Front Street will be closed to through traffic eastbound.
Local traffic will have access to Canal Street, while commercial traffic will be diverted to Providence Street from Kennedy Drive and back onto School Street eastbound.
Main Street will remain open at both ends for downtown business traffic.
Livery Street from Front Street to Cargill Chevrolet will be closed.
The north end of Livery Street will allow access to local businesses.
Extra police will be present at detour locations to assist with traffic control.
