LAWRENCE, MA — Police officers delivered a baby after responding to a medical emergency on Essex Street this afternoon.
Lawrence Police officers responded to a call at around 12:05 p.m. in the 600 block of Essex Street from a pregnant woman reporting that her water had broken.
When officers arrived, the mother was already in the process of giving birth.
Officers delivered the baby before emergency medical services arrived at the scene.
Both mother and baby were transported to a hospital for medical care.
