PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man faces multiple charges following a motor vehicle stop and foot pursuit on Manton Avenue.
Andre Rodriguez, 44, of Providence, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. by Rhode Island State Police troopers.
Rodriguez was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in execution of duty and disorderly conduct.
He also faces charges on an affidavit or arrest warrant for burglary out of the City of Providence.
Additionally, Rodriguez was arrested on two Providence Superior Court bench warrants for failure to appear.
One warrant stems from an arraignment on charges of grand theft larceny and unlawful breaking and entering of a dwelling house.
The second warrant is for failure to appear at a pretrial conference on a charge of attempted breaking and entering originating from the Providence Police Department.
Rodriguez was transported to Roger Williams Hospital for evaluation before being taken to State Police Headquarters for processing.
He was held overnight pending arraignment at Sixth Division District Court, where he will be presented as a bail violator.
In a separate incident at 11:30 p.m., troopers arrested Moises Delgado, 23, of Providence, for possession of marijuana – more than two ounces.
Police said Delgado was found with 7.43 ounces of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue at Route 6 in Providence.
Delgado was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and held pending morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court, where he will be presented as a Superior Court probation violator.
