WESTFIELD, NY — A 25-year-old man faces multiple child pornography charges following a months-long investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Neal, of Westfield, was arrested at his residence around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation in March into the promotion and possession of internet-based child pornography in the town of Westfield.
Investigators identified Neal as the person allegedly responsible for the crimes.
Neal’s electronic devices were seized during the investigation.
Investigators executed search warrants and allege they found a large quantity of images portraying obscene sexual performances by children.
Neal was charged with one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and 10 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
Neal will answer the charges in Chautauqua County Supreme Court.
The investigation was conducted in partnership with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
