PALMYRA, NY — A Palmyra man was arrested following a domestic dispute on the evening of Oct. 20.
Police responded to a residence on Johnson Street at approximately 8:15 p.m. for a reported domestic incident.
Officers learned that Scott W. Dollar, 27, of Palmyra, allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with his significant other while in the presence of their child, who is under the age of 3.
Dollar allegedly struck a female family member in the face, causing injury, and damaged property within the residence.
Dollar fled the scene before officers arrived and reportedly made threats indicating he would not surrender if located.
The Palmyra Police Department initiated a search using officers on foot and the department’s Utility Task Vehicle.
The New York State Police and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office provided additional support, deploying K-9 units, drones and personnel on foot.
The Macedon Police Department also assisted in the search and apprehension.
After several hours of searching, officers located Dollar hiding in an outbuilding in the area.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
Dollar was charged with assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child, obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
He was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment scheduled for 7 a.m.
A stay-away order of protection will be requested at arraignment.
