BELMONT, NH — A Belmont man was cited after a crash involving a City of Laconia police cruiser Saturday night.
At 8:05 p.m. Oct. 18, State Police dispatch received a report of a crash involving a Laconia Police Department cruiser at the intersection of Old Prescott Hill Road and Laconia Road in Belmont.
Troopers assigned to the Troop E barracks responded.
The preliminary investigation at the scene determined that the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado struck a Laconia Police cruiser that was blocking the road with its emergency lights activated at an unrelated crash scene.
The Laconia officer, who was assisting the Belmont Police Department at the scene, was out of the cruiser at the time of the crash.
No injuries were reported.
The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Christopher Truett, 37, of Belmont.
Truett was cited for negligent driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, inspection, and obedience to a police officer.
The road was closed for approximately 30 minutes while the investigation was conducted, and both vehicles were towed.
Anyone who witnessed the collision and has information related to the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Thomas Seager at [email protected].
