State police cruiser hits deer in North Troy

NORTH TROY — A Vermont State Police cruiser struck a deer while responding to a domestic disturbance call Saturday night.

The crash occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Route 105 near the intersection of Vincent Road.

Sgt. Daniel Lynch, 37, of Derby was driving north on Route 105 with emergency lights activated when a deer entered the roadway.

Lynch’s 2022 Ford Explorer struck the deer, causing heavy damage to the left front end and moderate damage to the left side of the vehicle.

Lynch sustained minor injuries and was taken to North Country Hospital.

State troopers and local fire and rescue squads responded to the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
