SOUTH WINDSOR — South Windsor police arrested a 46-year-old local man twice in one night following a domestic violence incident and alleged drunken driving.
David J. Peters was first arrested Saturday at 8:05 p.m. after police responded to a residence for reports of domestic violence.
Police determined Peters pushed open a door to a room, pushing a victim who was on the other side, and then threatened to harm another victim.
Officers found Peters in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the driveway and believed he had operated the vehicle while under the influence.
Peters declined to submit to standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
He was processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
Approximately two hours later, police determined Peters violated conditions of his release by contacting the victim via text and phone calls.
He was located in Manchester and arrested again for violation of conditions of release.
Peters posted a $10,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court this morning at 9 a.m.
In a separate incident, South Windsor police arrested Edwin Patino-Jaimes, 34, of East Hartford on Monday after he left the scene of a motor vehicle accident Saturday.
Police said Patino-Jaimes struck another vehicle from behind at 6:54 p.m. Saturday in the area of Buckland Road and Tamarack Avenue.
Officers identified Patino-Jaimes and he came to South Windsor police headquarters, where he was issued a misdemeanor summons.
He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 3 at 9 a.m.
