Man arrested on theft, drug charges in Geneva

GENEVA, NY — A man was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly stealing property from a vehicle on North Main Street.

Members of the Geneva Police Department’s Uniformed Division responded to a residence on North Main Street at approximately 7 p.m. for a report of a theft from a car.

Officers were informed by the homeowner that a male had entered their car and stole property.

The homeowner provided video surveillance of the suspect to officers.

Officers canvassed the area and located a male matching the description of the suspect.

Officers found some of the stolen property on Jonathan G. Toledo, 36, of Geneva.

During the search of Toledo, officers located crack cocaine in his pocket.

Toledo was transported to the police department, processed, and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

Toledo was released with an appearance ticket and will answer to the charges at a later date.

Toledo has been arrested four times since Sept. 17 for stealing from vehicles and drug possession.

Toledo was charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
