VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Long Beach man has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a gas station.
Austin Harthman, 34, of Long Beach, entered the Valero Gas Station located at 758 Franklin Avenue at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
According to Nassau County Police Fifth Squad detectives, Harthman began causing a disturbance and brandished a knife while demanding a lighter.
The victim, 25, complied out of fear for his safety, and Harthman exited the location without paying.
Harthman has been charged with robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
