Five arrested in breaking and entering in East Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW, MA — Five people were arrested after police found them inside an abandoned building on Chestnut Street on the evening of Oct. 17.

Officers from the East Longmeadow Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity at 330 Chestnut Street at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Responding officers located five individuals inside the abandoned structure.

Three adult males — two aged 18 and one aged 19 — were taken into custody.

Two juveniles were also identified and charged.

All five individuals face charges including possession of burglarious tools, breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, and malicious destruction of property over $1,200.

The Longmeadow Police Department assisted in the investigation.
