PENNSAUKEN, NJ — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Pennsauken, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Pennsauken Police Chief Phil Olivo.
Jacquae Roberts, 18, of Camden, and a 17-year-old male from Pennsauken are both charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The juvenile is also charged with fourth-degree possession of a firearm by a minor.
On Monday, Oct. 13, at approximately 3:03 p.m., officers from the Pennsauken Police Department responded to the 7700 block of Stockton Avenue in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located one gunshot victim, identified as an 18-year-old male.
The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Detectives later learned the victim had been shot while being robbed.
During the investigation, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Pennsauken Police Department worked collaboratively to identify Roberts and the juvenile as suspects in the shooting.
Roberts and the juvenile were taken into custody in Camden and Pennsauken, respectively, on Friday, Oct. 17, by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division.
Roberts is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
The juvenile is being held at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
