SHARON, VT — A West Lebanon, New Hampshire, woman was arrested on a DUI charge and her passenger faces a drug possession charge following a traffic stop on Interstate 89 south Friday evening.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks stopped a vehicle near mile marker 10 at approximately 7:27 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation.
Troopers identified signs of impairment and arrested Deaunna L. Hathorn, 49, of West Lebanon, New Hampshire, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and the passenger was found to be in possession of a felony amount of cocaine, police said.
Douglas Hicks, 60, of Hartland, was arrested on a charge of possession of crack cocaine.
Both individuals were taken to the Royalton Barracks, processed, and released with criminal citations to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windsor Criminal Division on Jan. 6, 2026.
