Woman arrested on murder charge in Standish

STANDISH, ME — A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man found shot inside a residence earlier this month.

Lynn Perkins of Standish was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Thursday at 715 River Road in Standish by detectives with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South.

Perkins was charged with murder in connection to the death of 49-year-old Matthew Hamilton.

Hamilton was found dead inside the River Road residence on Oct. 3.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Perkins and Hamilton had been in a relationship together.

Perkins was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where she is being held without bail.
