NORRIDGEWOCK, ME — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed a drug search warrant at a Clark Street residence on Wednesday morning, resulting in two arrests on aggravated trafficking charges.
Deputies executed the warrant at 6:27 a.m. at the residence of Kirsten Libby following a month-long investigation into illegal drug sales at the location.
Four Sheriff’s Office detectives, four patrol deputies and three Waterville Police Department detectives conducted the search.
Authorities seized cocaine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, documentation, digital scales and packaging materials during the search.
Kirsten Libby, 37, of Norridgewock, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled W drugs, a Class A felony.
Libby was on probation from Florida for a non-drug related matter at the time of her arrest.
The charges are aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized, Libby’s prior felony drug conviction and the residence’s proximity within 1,000 feet of Norridgewock Central Grade School.
Ty Peters, 28, of Fairfield, was also arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled W drugs, a Class A felony, and violation of conditions of release, a Class E crime.
Peters was out on bail for an unrelated drug trafficking charge at the time of his arrest.
Peters’ charges are aggravated due to the drug quantity and the residence’s location near the school.
Both defendants are being held without bail at the Somerset County Correctional Facility.
Both are scheduled to appear in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court on Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Additional charges may be filed pending review by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
