ELMORE, VT — A motorcyclist was cited for excessive speed after being clocked at 97 mph in a 50 mph zone on Oct. 16.
A trooper from the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks was conducting stationary radar speed enforcement on Vermont Route 12 near the municipal turnaround at approximately 6 p.m.
The trooper observed a red motorcycle traveling at a speed greater than the posted limit.
Radar registered the motorcycle’s speed at 97 mph.
A traffic stop was initiated and the operator was identified as Riley Colvin, 30, of Stowe.
Colvin was issued a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on Nov. 26 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charge of excessive speed.
Colvin was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint, which carries a waiver amount of $599 and 2 points.
