BETHEL, VT — A Chelsea man was cited for retail theft after allegedly leaving a hardware store without paying for merchandise on Oct. 16.
Vermont State Police from the Royalton Barracks received a report of a theft at Mill’s Hardware Store at approximately 10:45 a.m.
An investigation determined that William J. Spinks, 45, of Chelsea, was observed concealing an item inside the store before leaving without paying for it.
Troopers located Spinks with the item on Roger Lane in Bethel.
Spinks was issued a criminal citation and released.
