Man arrested on weapons charges in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A 39-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening another person with a firearm while the victim held a young child.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a report of two males arguing near the intersection by a north side business at approximately 11:28 a.m. on Oct. 17.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Larico Jones, of Jamestown, had allegedly threatened another individual at the scene with a firearm.

The victim was holding a 2-year-old child in his arms at the time of the incident.

A search of the area led officers to discover a loaded Kel-Tec .380 caliber pistol concealed underneath Jones’s vehicle at the scene.

Jones does not possess a valid pistol permit.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment on charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
