DORCHESTER, MA — A 39-year-old man was arrested on drug trafficking charges following the execution of search warrants Thursday.
Lawrence Chaney Jr., of Dorchester, was taken into custody by officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury).
Officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of 50 Columbia Road at approximately 12 p.m. Thursday.
During the search, officers recovered 178 grams of crack cocaine, a Walther PP2 firearm and PK380 firearm with defaced serial numbers, one loaded magazine with eight rounds, one loaded magazine with eleven rounds, a digital scale, drug packaging material, and approximately $105 in U.S. currency.
Chaney is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges including two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of defacement of a firearm serial number, trafficking of Class B, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and armed career criminal level II.
