SALEM, MA — Detectives from the Salem Police Department Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant for narcotics at a Broadway residence on Oct. 16.
The search warrant was the culmination of a month-long investigation into drug sales from the residence.
Approximately 1,400 grams of fentanyl and 180 grams of cocaine were seized during the search.
The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be over $20,000.
A loaded Glock-17 firearm with a large capacity feeding device and over 100 rounds of ammunition were also seized during the search.
One of the seized magazines was capable of carrying 40 rounds of ammunition.
Andy Gonzalez, 25, of Salem, was arrested after a struggle with detectives on Broadway.
Jazmilet Tavarez, 30, of Salem, was also charged.
Both Gonzalez and Tavarez were charged with trafficking Class A fentanyl over 200 grams, trafficking Class B cocaine over 100 grams, possession of a large capacity firearm in commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm and two counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device.
