NORTH HAVEN — A Hartford man has been arrested in connection with a jewelry store burglary that occurred in July.
Herman Milton, 43, of Hartford, was taken into custody Oct. 14 and charged with burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal mischief in the second degree and larceny in the first degree.
Police said a masked suspect forcibly entered a jewelry store on Washington Avenue at approximately 12:51 a.m. July 15.
The suspect used a sledgehammer to break through the front door and display cases before stealing tens of thousands of dollars in high-end watches, according to police.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Police said forensic evidence was collected at the scene and ultimately identified Milton as a suspect.
The investigation involved multiple surrounding agencies and the State of Connecticut Forensics Laboratory, police said.
Milton was released after posting a $95,000 court-set bond.
