WETHERSFIELD — Officers responded to a carjacking at Stop & Shop at 1380 Berlin Turnpike at approximately 10:05 p.m. Wednesday.
A Hispanic man, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a beige hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants, forcibly removed a woman from the driver’s seat of her gray Buick Lacrosse, according to police.
The suspect was seen traveling east on Jordan Lane and then north toward Maple Avenue in Hartford.
No weapons were used or implied during the incident, police said.
The victim had no visible injuries but was evaluated by Aetna ambulance personnel at the scene.
The Buick Lacrosse, bearing Connecticut license plate BN00701, was entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen.
Incident information was provided to surrounding agencies.
The Wethersfield Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating.
