HOPKINTON — Officers responded to a residence on Victory Lane on the afternoon of Monday for a 911 call reporting a fire in the home.
Officers Quinzani and Cappuccio arrived on scene and identified the source of fire to be a wreath that had caught on fire from a candle.
The homeowner smothered it with a fire blanket, but the flames persisted.
The fire was subdued with fire extinguishers before any more major damage occurred.
