MATTAPAN — Detectives assigned to the Civil Rights Unit have charged five suspects in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred at 550 River Street.
The incident occurred at about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Officers assigned to District B-3 responded to the area for a report of an aggravated assault.
Following a comprehensive investigation, five suspects were identified.
All five suspects have been formally charged and arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Civil rights violation charges are not sought at this time.
Franklin Francois, 51, of Randolph, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Woopenson Morisset, 30, of Boston, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
Gardy Exantus, 33, of Mattapan, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.
Maurice Payne, 37, of Brockton, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
Patrick Fanfan, 53, of Hyde Park, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
The incident was referred to the Civil Rights Unit after further investigation.
