SCHENECTADY — Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at local schools.
Emmanuel H. Pless, 20, of Schenectady, and Chrishuana McFadden, 21, of Schenectady, were taken into custody on Oct. 10.
The pair are linked to burglaries at Schenectady High School, Central Park Middle School, Paige Elementary School, and Bishop Gibbons School.
Community Engagement Officers, working alongside a detective assigned to the school district, identified the suspects and located a residence where they were believed to be staying.
The officers requested assistance from the department’s Drone Unit to safely locate and apprehend the individuals.
The drone provided real-time aerial surveillance that enhanced situational awareness and officer safety, allowing officers to coordinate an effective approach.
Both suspects were arrested without incident.
Pless was charged with five counts of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony.
McFadden was charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony, and conspiracy in the sixth degree, a class B misdemeanor.
